How We Got Started

Hello, my name is Jessie Hunt, Founder of Native Wild.
Native Wild, LLC is an Alaska Native and family owned business, originating from our Native village Wrangell, Alaska. As a child I was taught the value of medicinal plants, this was an important part of my childhood that I passed on to my four children. My knowledge of indigenous plants has taught my children to bridge the past with the present. As Native people we know that preserving culture means that we must do our part to preserve nature.

I started developing hand-crafted organic skin care products in my kitchen over 15 years ago. I started and still do infuse my own oils to insure the "just right" healing strength. Years of test marketing and listening to the needs of our customer has guided me to a perfected our products. We started selling and test marketing our products at Pow Wows and local events here in Oregon. Over the years we have expanded to Washington, California, Georgia and New Mexico.

I wanted to add my personal roots, so I have added a segment from our original website please read below.

Enjoy your healing journey with Native Wild. Please feel free to contact us with any special order or herbal support. Our personal passion with Native values.

Sincerely
Jessie Hunt, Founder
Chaa Hdikee (High Mountain)

Hello.

I am Chaa Hdikee, which means High Mountain in Tlingit. I am called Jessie after my great-grandmother, Jessie Eyon, Tlingit. My village is Wrangell, Alaska. I am of the water people and the great-great granddaughter of Chief Barney Kake, Wooshketahn Shark Clan, Tlingit. I am also the great-great-grandaughter of Chief Johnson, Teikweidei of the Taantaquan, Haida.

As a child I was taught the value of medicinal plants. This was an important part of my childhood. Awareness of climate changes makes our work here at Native Wild more important now than ever before. As Native people we know that preserving culture means that we must do our part to preserve nature.

Through your patronage, you are helping Native Wild do its small part to further its work in sustaining Indian culture.

I thank you in advance for your interest in Native Wild, LLC.

Sincerely,
Jessie Hunt, Founder
